George Clooney recently reflected on his extensive career and long-standing friendship with Brad Pitt during the premiere of their latest film, Wolfs, at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday, September 1st. Clooney, now 63, reminisced about the years he has spent working alongside Pitt, 60, humorously downplaying their relationship as "nothing good" and "a disaster" while interacting with fans and signing autographs on the red carpet.
On a more serious note, Clooney acknowledged the joy of collaborating with someone he knows so well, emphasizing the fun that comes from working with close friends. Both actors attended the premiere with their significant others—Clooney was accompanied by his wife, Amal, and Pitt by his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon.
Wolfs, a thriller featuring Clooney and Pitt as rival fixers on the same assignment, marks another addition to the duo’s cinematic history together. They have previously co-starred in several films, including the Ocean's trilogy, Burn After Reading, and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
During the festival, Clooney addressed a recent New York Times article that controversially reported he and Pitt had each earned over $35 million for their roles in Wolfs. Clooney dismissed the figures, stating they were "millions and millions and millions of dollars less" than reported, and expressed concern about the impact such misinformation could have on the film industry, particularly regarding salary expectations.
In a recent interview with GQ, Clooney and Pitt shared insights into their enduring friendship, highlighting the importance of checking in on each other as life’s challenges arise. Clooney noted that their friendship has spanned many years, with regular touchpoints to ensure everything is okay. Pitt praised Clooney's ability to foresee challenges and navigate complex situations, admitting that he often turns to Clooney when things get tough.
According to a source who spoke to PEOPLE, the two actors were thrilled to work together again, describing them as "forever friends" who deeply respect each other and share excitement for their latest project, Wolfs. The film is set to be released in theaters on September 20th, with streaming available on Apple TV+ starting September 27th.
