The “truth hurts” singer has received a lot of love from her fans after sharing her weight loss journey. She posted an Instagram reel standing in a black one piece bathing suit on a porch as it rains, looking up with her arms spread. She wrote in the caption, “I’m taking a gap year & protecting my peace,” with the praying hands emoji.
Fans under her comments showed their support for the singer. “She is getting ACTUALLY healthy the natural way, I know y'all used to BBLs but sis has been putting in that work (clapping emojis),” an ecstatic fan wrote. “It's nice to see a celebrity actually putting themselves first and admitting they need it before they breakdown. I wish you well!”
“You’ve changed so much! So much hard work and it’s paying off!” a fan expressed. One fan called out the haters saying, “I don’t care what nobody says Lizzo was gorgeous with the weight and now since she lost it the haters are her biggest fans now and I don’t like ya’ll because it’s not genuine.”
Some fans went ahead to bash Lizzo, claiming she hasn't lost weight at all, while others mocked her for promoting “obesity” while working out to become slimmer. “It was forced, who you think you fooling?” Other fans accused the singer of being on ozempic. Ozempic has been used by many celebrities over the years to promote weight loss. “I see ya, everybody on that ozempic.”
In as much as Lizzo received support and praises from fans and other celebrities, she was bashed by fans who still believe Lizzo has been mistreating her workers. “We still ain't forget how you treated your workers,” one fan wrote. “As someone who has worked a lizzo tour/show, I'll say this much, your attitude is the problem.”
Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson) was sued in August by dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez, who claim she and her Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. created a hostile work environment through a wide range of legal wrongdoing, including sexual harassment and religious and racial discrimination.
