Angelina Jolie is beaming with pride over her daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt. Recently, Zahara was seen dancing with her Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority sisters at Spelman College's Welcome Back Jam, and a source shared with PEOPLE that "Angelina is incredibly proud of Zahara, her AKA sisters, and all the remarkable young women at Spelman."
A new video has emerged showing Zahara participating in the AKA Leadership Night, dancing alongside seven of her sorority sisters as part of the Spelman Class of 2028. Zahara, who is 19, became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha in November 2023.
In a video from Essence, Zahara introduced herself as a new member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Mu Pi chapter, proudly stating, “My name is Zahara Marley Jolie, and I came all the way from the Golden State, in the city of angels: Los Angeles, California.”
Jolie, 49, who shares Zahara with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, first announced that her daughter would be attending Spelman in July 2022. At the time, Jolie posted a photo on Instagram of Zahara with her Spelman sisters, congratulating all the new students. “Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all the new students starting this year. Spelman is a very special place, and it’s an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl,” she wrote, adding hashtags like "#spelman #spelmancollege #spelmansisters #HBCU."
Jolie has been a strong supporter of Zahara throughout her transition to college life, even helping her move into her dorm in August 2022 and attending one of the sorority’s lunches.
In addition to Zahara, Jolie and Pitt are parents to five other children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
