In a heartwarming and unexpected moment, rock legend Lenny Kravitz paused his concert in Italy to take a FaceTime call from his close friend and “big brother,” actor Denzel Washington. During his performance at the Lucca Summer Festival, Kravitz addressed the audience with his phone in hand, saying, “I’m sorry, my big brother just called me up on the phone to say hi. Y’all know Denzel Washington?” The crowd erupted in cheers as Kravitz showed them the smiling face of Washington on the other end of the call.

This spontaneous exchange highlighted the deep bond between the two celebrities, who have been friends for over three decades. Washington has often spoken about their close relationship, describing Kravitz as more than a friend, calling him a brother. At Kravitz’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in March, Washington delivered an emotional tribute, saying, “We have been tied together for a long time. We are brothers. I love Lenny Kravitz like I’ve loved no other brother in my life”.

Kravitz, currently on his Blue Electric Light Tour to promote his 12th studio album, has been making headlines for his interactions with fans and fellow celebrities alike. The tour, which has stops across Europe including Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, and Hungary, has been full of memorable moments. Earlier this month, Kravitz shared a touching interaction with a young fan during a performance in France, further showcasing his connection with his audience.

The camaraderie between Kravitz and Washington extends beyond public events. Speaking with Billboard, Kravitz revealed that their relationship is built on “brotherhood and love and honesty and faithfulness.” Despite their different career paths, they share a similar outlook on life, which has cemented their enduring friendship.

This mid-concert call not only entertained fans but also underscored the genuine affection between Kravitz and Washington. Their friendship, filled with mutual respect and love, continues to inspire and delight fans worldwide.
