During the interview with Club Shay Shay, rapper Megan Thee Stallion admitted that Beyonce encouraged her to venture into spirits and start her own tequila brand. Beyoncè and her husband Jay Z have been mentoring the “Hiss" _ rapper for a while now. “ Beyonce is actually the person that inspired me to get my own tequila, “ the hot girl summer” rapper explained.
“ I used to be a cognac queen. I still am the cognac queen but as much as I used to enjoy cognac, and I’ve promoted alot of people’s liquor brands, she was like, “ the next time I see you, you better have your own. You need your own alcohol “ Megan also spoke about her legal situation with 1501, she claims that singer and business mogul Beyonce and her husband Jay Z encouraged her to do it on her own. “ You should figure out how to get out here and be your own boss”, she explained.
Megan Thee Stallion announced that she would launch her Tequila this year during Adweek's social media week. She also took to Instagram to announce that it would be dropping soon. She has not yet announced a release date but she allowed fans to preview the liquor during her Hot Girl Summer tour before its official release.
“ l create the music that l want to hear, I go and do my own thing and stay true to me. As long as you keep doing things that are true to you and feel good to you, you’ll get the audience you want to attract. You don’t want to be a walking commercial. You should do things that make you feel good.....you’ll create more moments that way" she said during the announcement per essence.
