Wendy Williams, 59 is a former broadcaster, media personality and writer. She garnered popularity from the Wendy Williams Show after having a career in radio. She built a career off saying things that other people in her line of work were afraid to say. Wendy Williams has currently been diagnosed with progressive aphasia and photo frontotemperal dementia, therefore, affecting how she communicates with people, her cognitive abilities and her language.
The documentary “Where is Wendy Williams?” highlights Williams’ struggles with alcohol abuse, her illnesses and how her divorce from her ex-husband of nearly 20 years, Kevin Hunter affected her overall well being. The four part documentary also highlights how the former talk show host struggles with memory loss. According to a statement released by her medical team in February 2022, receiving a diagnosis has enabled Wendy to receive the medical care she requires.
“Over the past few years, questions have been raised at times about Wendy's ability to process information and many have speculated about Wendy's condition particularly when she began to lose words, act erratically at times and have difficulty understanding financial transactions,” the release stated.
At the moment it seems like Wendy Williams’ loved ones are trying to save her from the guardianship. In 2022, it was made clear that Sabrina Morrissey was Wendy's guardian. According to Regina Schell, Wendy's lifelong friend, she claims that Wendy's situation is worse than Britney Spear’s former conservationship. According to Schell, even though the two situations are bad at least Britney's was controlled by her father whereas Williams’ is controlled by a complete stranger.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Regina Schell said, “At least with Britney, it was her dad, it was her family, this is a woman who's not even familiy,” she continued to say “And how does this Guardian get all this standing? Wendy was looking for real estate, she was talking to a financial expert at Bank of America to gain control of her finances. I don't know how she went to at least 90% Wendy to now she's incapacitated and can never see anyone again.”
