Media mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has issued a strong condemnation of the upcoming Netflix docuseries focusing on his recent legal and professional turmoil, labeling the production a sensationalized and “shameful hit piece.” The statement was released through his spokesman, Juda Engelmayer, in anticipation of the series’ release.
The Netflix docuseries, titled Diddy: The Rise and Fall of a King, reportedly features interviews with numerous associates, former employees, and accusers who have spoken out against the rapper. The project is understood to detail the dramatic unraveling of Combs’ empire following a series of civil lawsuits, federal investigations and raids on his properties earlier this year.
In the statement provided by Engelmayer, Diddy’s team did not deny the existence of the production but aggressively attacked its premise and timing. “Mr. Combs views this entire Netflix project as nothing more than a desperate and shameful hit piece designed purely to generate ratings and profit from his current adversity,” Engelmayer stated.
The spokesman went on to criticize the producers for allegedly prioritizing drama over fact, claiming the series relies heavily on unsubstantiated claims from individuals with “financial agendas.” Engelmayer stressed that many of the allegations presented in the series are from individuals currently engaged in litigation against Combs or who have historical grudges, suggesting their testimony is biased and unreliable.
Engelmayer further confirmed that Combs’ legal team had not cooperated with the documentary’s producers and urged the public to view the production with extreme skepticism. “We are fully prepared to address the truth in a proper legal forum, not through a sensationalized, one-sided television program,” he added.
The docuseries Is one of several projects focused on Combs since federal agents raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March 2025 as part of an investigation into human trafficking allegations. Combs has consistently denied all allegations of criminal wrongdoing and abusive behavior. Despite his denial, the Netflix series is poised to be one of the platform’s most discussed releases of the year, bringing renewed attention to the severe legal challenges facing the once-untouchable mogul.
