There's new reason to celebrate for Kate Middleton. The Princess of Wales formally resumed her royal duties one week after announcing that she had finished her chemotherapy treatments. On September 17, royal reporter Richard Palmer shared with X (formerly Twitter) that she held a meeting at Windsor Castle with advisers working on her Early Years campaign to give children a better start in their first five years of life. One of Kate's primary priorities has been the development of young children, particularly since the establishment of the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood in 2021.

The official record of royal engagements, the Court Circular, confirmed the meeting. According to ITV, this is only the third time that Kate has been mentioned in the records since resigning from public life earlier this year due to a cancer diagnosis.

In a video posted to social media on September 10, the 42-year-old revealed that her chemotherapy was over, stating that the last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family.

The wife of Prince William, Kate, said, The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. Prince George is eleven, Princess Charlotte is nine, and Prince Louis is six. Along with opening your eyes to your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never thought of before, humility also gives you a fresh perspective on everything.

She added that although she is gradually getting back to her work, remaining cancer-free is now my focus.

Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes, she said. Nevertheless, I am excited to return to work and do a few more public appearances in the upcoming months when I can.

Together with William, Kate expressed gratitude to the public for their support throughout her journey, saying that they have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time.

Everyone's kindness, empathy, and compassion have been truly humbling, she said. To everyone who is still navigating their own cancer journey, know that I am here to support you—hand in hand, side by side. Light can emerge from darkness, so let that light shine brightly.

After learning of Kate's good news, William gave the Llanelli, South Wales, community a visit on September 10 and said, It's good news, but there is still a long way to go.
