A Florida woman accused of opening fire near the home of Rihanna has pleaded not guilty to multiple serious charges, including attempted murder.

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, entered her plea during an arraignment hearing at Los Angeles Superior Court on March 25. She faces one count of attempted murder, 10 felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to life in prison.

Ortiz is being held on bail set at $1.875 million after a request by her defense team to reduce it to $70,000 was denied by the court. Her attorney had argued for a lower amount based on her financial situation, but prosecutors opposed the move, citing the severity of the allegations and concerns about her being a flight risk.

The charges stem from an incident on March 8, when Ortiz allegedly drove to the Beverly Hills property shared by Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky and their children, and fired multiple rounds from a semiautomatic rifle. Authorities say the singer and several other people were inside the property at the time.

According to investigators, approximately 20 shots were fired from a vehicle parked outside the home, with at least one bullet penetrating the property’s structure. Bullet damage was also reported on the gate and a nearby vehicle. Despite the gunfire, no injuries were reported. Ortiz allegedly fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Law enforcement later located her white Tesla traveling south before arresting her at a shopping center in Sherman Oaks roughly 30 minutes after the initial emergency call. Officers reportedly recovered an assault-style rifle and spent shell casings from her vehicle.

Prosecutors described the incident as a deliberate and dangerous act that could have had far more serious consequences. During court proceedings, it was noted that multiple people were present at the residence, leading to the additional assault charges tied to each potential victim.

Ortiz’s motive remains under investigation, though authorities have pointed to social media activity in the weeks leading up to the incident, including posts that appeared to reference the singer. Officials are continuing to examine digital evidence as part of the case.

Her next court appearance has been scheduled for April 8 as the legal process moves forward.
