In a series of fiery social media posts on February 2, 2026, Nicki Minaj launched a direct counter-attack against fellow artists Lizzo and Billy Porter. The conflict erupted after both stars made public remarks criticizing Minaj’s recent alignment with President Donald Trump and her acceptance of a “Trump Gold Card.” Minaj, known for her “Queen Radio” style of direct confrontation, utilized her platform on X (formerly Twitter) to “drag” her critics, labeling them as hypocritical and performative.

The tension began when Lizzo, during an Instagram Live session, expressed disappointment in Minaj’s political shift, suggesting that the rapper was “selling out” the communities that built her career for a “gold-plated gimmick.” Billy Porter followed suit in a recent interview, questioning Minaj’s “moral compass” and suggesting that her support for the current administration was an affront to LGBTQ+ and Black advocacy.

Minaj responded by addressing both artists individually and with significant vitriol. Regarding Lizzo, Minaj pointed toward the 2023 lawsuits involving the singer’s former dancers, which included allegations of a hostile work environment. “The girl that was just in court for treating her own people like dirt wants to talk to me about a community?” Minaj wrote. She further dismissed Lizzo’s comments as a desperate attempt to regain “liberal clout” after her brand took a hit from the legal scandals.

Turning her attention to Billy Porter, Minaj was equally relentless. She accused the Pose star of being “stuck in a box” and claimed that his criticisms were rooted in an “industry script” rather than genuine concern. “You’ve been playing a character so long you forgot how to think for yourself,” she posted, adding that Porter and others were simply “mad they didn’t get an invite to the table” at the recent Treasury Department summit she attended.

Minaj concluded her series of posts by doubling down on her political stance, asserting that she is a “free thinker” who cannot be “bullied into silence.” She argued that the backlash from her peers only proves their intolerance for differing viewpoints. While Lizzo and Porter have yet to issue a second round of responses to Minaj’s specific “drag,” the public feud has effectively divided the entertainment industry.
