Chance the Rapper has shared heartfelt insights into the most challenging aspect of his divorce from Kirsten Corley: adjusting to a new coparenting reality while maintaining a united front for their two daughters, Kensli, 9, and Marli, 5. Speaking on the New Rory & Mal podcast, the 32-year-old artist described the shift as both emotionally complex and deeply important.

"The family I come from is very, very close," Chance said, emphasising that both he and Corley value keeping strong ties for the sake of their children. Despite their April 2024 separation after five years of marriage, the pair still travel together and remain, as he put it, "family forever." However, he admitted, "I ain't gonna act like it's not tough. It's weird... you have to allow yourself grace to deal with that and operate in reality."

The Grammy-winning artist reflected on the difficulty of breaking long-standing patterns, even when both parties are committed to cooperation. While tensions can arise, he stressed their mutual dedication to supporting one another, not solely for the children's benefit, but also for their own well-being. "We both at least have that vantage point that allows us to never go too far in any direction," he explained.

Chance and Corley's history is notable; they first met when they were just nine years old, eventually marrying in 2019. Though their romantic relationship has changed, their commitment to shared parenting remains strong. Chance noted that they see each other "at least every other week" and continue to be emotionally connected through their children, describing the bond as a "Venn diagram" linking their lives permanently.

While he acknowledged that neither of them is "the most emotionally mature person," Chance expressed gratitude for Corley's willingness to approach the situation with balance and perspective.
