Texas attorney, Tony Buzbee has withdrawn from almost a dozen of Diddy lawsuits, following him being restricted from practicing law in the Southern District of New York. The attorney gained recognition after helping over 100 victims file civil lawsuits against the disgraced business and music mogul, Sean Diddy Combs. He is currently withdrawing from 15 sex trafficking cases in the Southern District of New York.

Addressing his withdrawal, Buzbee clarified, “I personally withdrew, not my firm, from the few federal court cases we have on file until such time as my admission is cleared up.” He emphasized his commitment to his clients, stating, “I’m still attorney in charge in all the New York state cases and intend to file cases very soon in Nevada and California.” It was officially determined last month that he could no longer practice law in NY’s Southern District, which incudes New York City’s five boroughs (Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, Manhattan and Staten Island), and Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, and Sullivan counties.

This comes after Diddy’s legal team recently argued that Buzbee lacks authorization to file suits in Southern District of New York. Acknowledging the oversight, Buzbee admitted to US district judge, Ronnie Abraham, claiming he made “an error in judgement” by failing to disclose his lack of admission to the court.

“I now seek to remedy this error by withdrawing my representation of the Plaintiff in this matter pending the resolution of my admission to this court,” Buzbee responded. “As an attorney in good standing of the New York State Bar, the Texas State Bar, and your sister district, the Bar for Eastern District of the State of New York, I believe I am eminently qualified and should not be precluded from representing the Plaintiff in this action. At this time, however, my admission status has become a distraction that has shifted the focus of the matter away from where it should be, which is securing justice for the Plaintiff.”
