Tia Mowry is thinking back on the holiday season. After splitting from her ex-husband Cory Hardrict in 2022 after 14 years of marriage, the Sister, Sister alumna opened up on how challenging the season can be, particularly as she manages it as a single mother to her 13-year-old son Cree and 6-year-old daughter Cairo.

Tia posted a series of pictures of her kids in front of Christmas decorations on Instagram on December 23 along with the caption, Co-parenting during the holidays is a journey, which she described as being filled with a mix of emotions. It's different, and yes, there are moments when it can feel difficult and even lonely, particularly when you're getting used to a new family dynamic.

The 46-year-old claimed to have found the beauty in it despite the challenges, noting that it allows her children to build meaningful relationships with both parents and provides time for self-discovery, healing, and rejuvenation. I'll admit, as a single mom, I sometimes feel the weight because our family doesn't look like others, Tia said. But what do you know? It's alright. Being different does not imply being inferior. Keeping the traditions alive for my kids is the most important thing because, despite appearances, we are still family.

To those who are co-parenting around the holidays, Tia concluded her article by encouraging them to make those special moments for our kids, no matter what. Tia has talked candidly about the challenges of adjustment since divorcing Cory, particularly the fact that she and her siblings, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Tahj Mowry, and Tavior Mowry, no longer share the same level of intimacy.

As siblings, we all grow up, get married, and have kids, Tia said in an October interview with E! News. We take on different roles and  responsibilities in life. Tia further explained that she was simply referring to physical closeness when she said that she was no longer  to her twin sister Tamera on her upcoming reality show My Next Act. She also stated that she still depends on her family and friends to help her get through difficult times.

Change is really really scary, but also beautiful, she added. At the same time, you're not alone when you know you are going through these transitions in life, and there's community, there's family, there's friendship, there's support there.
