Kanye West's latest music video for the song Bomb, featuring his daughters North and Chicago West, has sparked widespread debate and mixed reactions online.
Released on November 28, the video is part of his collaboration album Vultures 2 with Ty Dolla $ign under the duo name ¥$. Set against a post-apocalyptic desert backdrop, the visuals show North and Chicago racing in futuristic vehicles pursued by animated creatures. While intended to showcase creativity, the production has divided fans and critics alike.
Many viewers initially speculated that the video was AI-generated, with one Reddit user commenting, "WHAT THE F*** IS IT ALL AI No way this is real." Others echoed similar sentiments, expressing concern over Kanye's use of technology for the project. Another fan said, "Someone cancel his subscription to AI services asap."
Criticism also centered on the involvement of Kanye's daughters. North West, 11, delivers verses in English and Japanese, including lines like, "You know me, I'm the bomb," while 6-year-old Chicago sings, "It's Chicago, you know I'm the one. I like to have fun. I like to go to the beach. I like the sun." Despite their youthful charm, some viewers felt the video was inappropriate. One critic stated, "His music is not for kids! This is the worst thing he's done."
However, not all reactions were negative. Fans of North celebrated her budding music career, noting that this isn't her first foray into the industry. She previously appeared on Kanye's Vultures album in 2023, contributing to the song Bless Me. Supporters praised her confidence and creative flair, with one Instagram user commenting, "North has a target audience, and it's not us grown adults... y'all need to relax, this sounds fun."
Kim Kardashian publicly supported their involvement. Sharing the video on Instagram, Kim wrote, "BOMB ft. North West & Chicago West."
