Quincy Brown, actress Kim Porter and musician Al B Sure son, pens a heartfelt caption showing his support for Diddy. After Diddy started seeing Porter in the ‘90s, he legally adopted Brown. The couple went on to welcome Christian, Jessie and D’Lila before going their separate ways in 2007 after years of on-again, off-again dating. According to Quincy, Diddy is a father figure and he looks up to him.
“The past month has devastated our family. Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media,” Brown, 33, began the Instagram post, featuring a family photo of the Combs clan. “We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD.”
Quincy Brown’s statement comes shortly after another statement from him, ChristianCombs and twins D’Lila and Jessie Combs after the alleged Kim Porter’s memoir. “Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not. And anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves,” their statement read. “Please understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend, nor do they have her best interests at heart.”
As for Quincy’s relationship with his biological father, they have had a strained relationship over the years, with Quincy writing a letter to the “Nite & Day” singer in 2009 asking why he was “absent” from his life as a child. Today, Q and Al B. Sure!, born Albert Joseph Brown III, are on better terms, the young man recently explained on Angela Yee’s Lip Service.
“I think we got a cool relationship, right? He tends to, like, try and do, like, the ‘dad thing’ a lot. But it’s like that’s not really where we’re at in life. Like, we homies more than anything,” he said. “We’re like, let’s go do something, you know what I mean? And I feel like that’s kind of where we’re getting at now is actually knowing that we two grown men. You know what I mean? We can talk about anything and everything. It’s not about anything else.”
