Halle Bailey has opened up about her life as a single mother and the challenges she faces after her recent split from DDG, her partner of two years. On October 15, the "Little Mermaid" star took to Snapchat to share her struggle with leaving her nine-month-old son, Halo, behind for work. Posting a selfie on a plane, she admitted feeling anxious about the separation. “Flying tonight to be somewhere for one day but having crippling anxiety without my son,” she wrote, asking her followers, “Any advice for moms who still can’t handle when they have to leave for work?”

Bailey’s post comes just two weeks after DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., announced their split on October 3 via an Instagram Story. Reflecting on the decision, he wrote, “After much reflect and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared.”

Following the split, Halle has been adjusting to life as a single mother. A week after the breakup, she shared glimpses of her new life with her son on Instagram. In one post, she captioned, “Life is beautiful,” sharing photos of herself working out with Halo, enjoying pool time, and sipping wine at a recording studio. Despite the emotional toll, Halle is finding ways to embrace this new chapter.

Halle has kept much of her personal life private, especially her journey into motherhood. Earlier this year, she spoke at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards, where she delivered an emotional speech about her decision to keep her pregnancy hidden. “There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone,” she said, referring to Halo. “He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligations to expose him, me, or my family to that unyielding spotlight.”

Halle remains focused on protecting her son and prioritizing her family’s well-being amidst her busy career.
