FBG Duck, whose real name was Carlton Weekly, was shot as many as 21 times in the daytime attack on Aug. 4, 2020. It was allegedly a gang related shooting outside a luxury clothing store in the first block of East Oak Street, leaving him dead and his girlfriend and other shoppers wounded. The feds tied the shooting to a brutal gang war between Duck’s Tookaville faction of the Gangster Disciples and the O-Block set of the Black Disciples.
FBG Duck’s mother, Lasheena Weekly is now suing Lil Durk and King Von’s estate for allegedly profiting off her son’s death. She claims that not only did the O’block gang kill her son, they also rapped about it, hence making millions from it. She stated that the gang was sent by Durk’s brother.Weekly says the beef escalated when Durk allegedly put a hit out on duck.
“They understood that reality rap, violence, controversy, beef and notoriety were good for driving increased record sales, streams and views for building a brand and profiting from a violent image,” the suit reads. “In essence, they monetized the killing of FBG Duck.” Weekly claims in the lawsuit that Durk’s label, Only The Family (OTF) is a criminal enterprise that signs killers to be rap artists, but they get away with it due to their major connections to Sony.
Weekly also alleges that Durk and his team had a vendetta against her son and made a brand on their beef. The defendants in the lawsuit includes Lil Durk, the Estate of King Von, the city of Chicago, Dolce& Gabbana, two private security firms and the six members who were convicted in Duck’s murder earlier this year. Weekly claims her son bled for 17 minutes before paramedics tended to him. According to Weekly, the luxury brand, Dolce & Gabbana didn’t have enough security during the shooting, with one security reportedly walking off duty before the shooting.
