British YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is facing serious charges in Australia. The 29-year-old internet personality has been accused of four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of obstructing a person's normal breathing by applying pressure to their neck. These charges stem from an alleged incident in his Perth hotel room on September 28, 2024, after performing at a venue in Hillarys.
According to the allegations, Yung Filly sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s in his hotel room after a performance at Bar1 Nightclub on September 27. He was arrested in Brisbane and extradited to Perth for his court appearance. He appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on October 9, where no pleas were entered, and was granted bail under strict conditions. The bail required a personal undertaking of 100,000 Australian dollars, alongside a surety of the same amount. His next court date is set for December 19, 2024.
In response to the charges, Yung Filly’s record label, Warner Records, has paused all his future music releases, pending the outcome of the legal case. Warner Records had signed the rapper around 2021, and he has since released multiple tracks, including collaborations with prominent
artists like Aitch. His latest releases, “Grey” and “Tempted,” have gained significant traction, with millions of streams on Spotify. However, the label's decision to halt future releases has brought his burgeoning music career to a standstill.
Yung Filly, who gained fame through his YouTube collaborations and appearances on shows like BBC's Hot Property and Channel 4's The Great Celebrity Bake Off, has not publicly commented on the charges. His representatives, as well as Western Australian authorities, have urged anyone with information about the case or similar incidents to come forward. Meanwhile, the investigation by the Western Australian Sex Assault Squad remains ongoing.
