Kanye West is embroiled in a new legal battle after a former employee, using the pseudonym John Doe, filed a lawsuit alleging that the rapper hired him to investigate both his wife, Bianca Censori, and the Kardashian family. Doe, who claims to be West's former "Director of Intelligence," stated that his duties included hiring private investigators to follow Censori without her knowledge, particularly during trips to visit her family in Australia. Additionally, West allegedly had him investigate the Kardashians, suspecting them of involvement in criminal activities, including sex trafficking.
Doe initially joined West's team in December 2022 as the campaign manager for the rapper’s intended presidential run, but his role soon shifted to handling confidential matters for West's Yeezy brand. According to court documents obtained by *TMZ* and *Rolling Stone*, Doe alleges that he was tasked with controlling West’s image by limiting negative press and conducting various investigations. The most shocking aspect of his job was tailing Censori and investigating the Kardashians’ supposed criminal links.
The lawsuit also touches on West's alleged erratic behavior in 2024, which Doe claims was exacerbated by the rapper's nitrous oxide use. Doe described West’s behavior as increasingly paranoid and erratic, particularly after he implanted titanium grills on his teeth and spent $850,000 on dental work. Around the same time, West began dismissing several key members of his Yeezy leadership team, including Milo Yiannopoulos, who has also made claims about West's nitrous oxide use.
Doe's employment reportedly ended after he informed Yeezy leadership of a complaint from a Donda Academy staffer, who claimed that children had been abused at the school. West allegedly responded by yelling and cursing at Doe, threatening him with "great bodily harm" if he repeated
the allegations. Doe further claims that West’s "enforcers" began threatening him after this incident, triggering his PTSD from his time in the military.
The former employee is seeking damages for emotional distress, unpaid wages, and violations of California labor laws. His attorney, Ronald Zambrano, stated that the lawsuit highlights how West’s erratic behavior and paranoia, allegedly linked to his nitrous oxide usage, escalated during the time Doe worked for him. "There is a direct correlation between the nitrous oxide and the increase in paranoia and siege mentality," Zambrano said.
