Tina Knowles recently shared some heartfelt parenting advice. Honored atGlamour’s Women of the Year Awards on October 8, she stood alongside other influential moms, celebrating at The Times Square EDITION in NewYork City. Known as the mother of Beyoncé and Solange, Knowles offered words of encouragement to mothers who may be facing challenges.
During a red carpet interview with PEOPLE, she acknowledged that theteenage years can be tough but assured parents that things will improve. “I believe that while the teenage phase is the hardest, it eventuallygets better. The love and support you give come back to you,” Knowles shared.
In her speech, Knowles, 70, reflected on motherhood, which she considers her most fulfilling role. Beyoncé, who was in attendance, watched ashermother spoke of their family journey. “I’ve had many careers, but being a mom is the most rewarding,” Knowles said. She emphasized that raising her children has been her greatest accomplishment. Besidesvher daughters Beyoncé and Solange, Knowles has also played a motherly role to Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child.Rowland joined the event in support of Knowles, adding to the emotionalatmosphere.
Knowles also spoke about her transformation into a devoted mother. “As a young adult, I was a bit of a rebel, often going against the rules. But once I became a mother, I made a commitment to give my all to it,” she said, becoming visibly emotional. The camera captured Beyoncé tearing up with pride as her mother’s words touched her.
The event also celebrated other iconic mothers, including Donna Kelce, mother of Travis Kelce; Maggie Baird, mother of Billie Eilish; and Mandy Teefey, mother of Selena Gomez. Each of these women was honored forvraising notable figures who’ve impacted the world.
