In a revealing interview with Vanity Fair, pop sensation Ariana Grande has spoken out for the first time about her relationship with "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slater, addressing the public scrutiny and tabloid speculation that has surrounded their romance since 2023.

Grande, 31, expressed her frustration with the media narrative, stating, "The most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of [our relationship]." She emphasized the inaccuracy of tabloid portrayals, particularly regarding Slater: "There couldn't be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him."

The singer-actress praised Slater's character, describing him as someone who "tries harder" and "spreads themselves thinner" for loved ones. "There is no one on this earth with a better heart," Grande asserted, pushing back against negative portrayals.

The couple's relationship became public knowledge in July 2023, shortly after Grande's separation from ex-husband Dalton Gomez. Slater, 32, had also recently separated from his wife, Lilly Jay. The timing of these events led to widespread speculation and criticism.

Grande reflected on her long-standing challenges with media portrayal, noting that tabloids have been "trying to destroy" her since she was 19. Despite this, she maintains a positive outlook: "I will never let disreputable evil tabloids ruin my life or my perception of what is real and good."

The interview coincides with the approaching release of "Wicked: Part One," set to premiere on November 27, 2024. Grande and co-star Cynthia Erivo participated in Vanity Fair's lie detector test, where Grande candidly discussed her relationship with fans and her mixed feelings about the fanbase name "Arianators."
