The high-profile relationship between rap superstars Cardi B and Offset has once again become the center of public attention, following a heated exchange on social media platforms on September 25, 2024. This latest incident comes just weeks after the birth of their third child and
amidst ongoing divorce proceedings.
The couple's rocky history dates back to their secret marriage in September 2017, followed by multiple breakups and reconciliations. Their relationship has been marked by allegations of infidelity, public apologies, and attempts at reconciliation, including Offset's dramatic onstage gesture at the Rolling Loud Festival in 2018.
The recent altercation began when Offset accused Cardi B of infidelity during her pregnancy. "U f--ked with a baby inside tell the truth!!" he commented during Cardi's Instagram Live session. Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, seemed to confirm the accusation on X (formerly Twitter), stating "AND DID !!!!!!"
During her Instagram Live, Cardi B expressed regret over her relationship with Offset, stating, "But f--- you, I regret you. I'm too good for you. I've always been too good for you." She also hinted at potential legal battles, saying, "It's no fun when Mama's got the gun, right? Now we're going to court war, right?"
This public dispute comes on the heels of Cardi B filing for divorce from Offset on July 31, 2024, after seven years of marriage. Interestingly, the couple welcomed their third child together in early September, with Offset present in the hospital room despite the ongoing divorce proceedings.
The pair, who share daughter Kulture (6) and son Wave (3), have had a history of on-again, off-again relationships. Cardi B had previously filed for divorce in September 2020 but dismissed it two months later. In a January 2023 interview on The Jason Lee Show, Cardi explained her decision to reconcile, saying, "The main thing that I wanted him to stop and everything, he stopped and he changed, and it showed me that he wanted to change for me."
As recently as May 2024, Cardi B spoke to Rolling Stone about the complexities of their relationship, describing Offset as her "best friend" and highlighting the challenges of potentially ending their connection.
