Adut Akech, the 24 year old South Sudanese runway model announced that she's expecting her first child with longtime partner Samuel Elkhier. She revealed her pregnancy to vogue and in a series of photos revealing her baby bump. “Beyond BLESSED and CANNOT wait to meet our bundle of joy! gushed Adut, after sharing the news to Instagram. She also went ahead to reveal that she always wanted to be a young mum.
Adut, who's currently 10 weeks pregnant, revealed that she started suspecting she was pregnant after developing an intense, unusual cravings for oranges. “I was picking up my car from the service center — with my bag of oranges! — and when driving back home, I started feeling like I was going to throw up, she recalled. She revealed she took a pregnancy test two days after the incident.
“I always said I wanted to be a young mom because I love the idea of growing up with your kids. I'm excited. I can't wait. I'm like—can they just come already she said. The Victoria Secret model went ahead to say that pregnancy has been a mental and physical roller-coaster. She went ahead to say “Women… we're built different, I don't think men could ever.” She revealed that nothing really prepares a woman when it comes to pregnancy. She added that she wants to be a mother of five one day.
Adut revealed that the most important lesson she has learnt so far during her pregnancy is patience. She went ahead to claim that her pregnancy has made her realize how resilient she is. “I just want to be a cool mom and the best mom ever.”
After announcing her pregnancy on Instagram, Adut received an influx of congratulatory messages. Supermodel Naomi Campbell wrote, “Congratulations to my Daughter @adutakech on such a blessing can't wait to be a grandma.” Jeremy Scott, former Moschino creative director
wrote that he was “Overjoyed” for Adut and Samuel. Jessica Elba showed her love for Adut by leaving three red hearts under her post.
