Ice Spice and Baby Storme have been friends for many years, however, the Bronx rapper, Ice Spice has gained massive recognition following her hit song “Munch”. Baby Storme accused Ice Spice of being the reason why her music career did not flourish as it should have. She stated that Ice Spice used her and her connections as a stepping stone to becoming the artist she is today. Baby Storme leaked some private messages between her and Ice Spice and in those messages, Ice Spice calls fellow rapper Nicki Minaj ungrateful, jealous and delusional. She also went ahead to write that Nicki wants her publishing rights, including those of third party competitions. Despite the two having collaborated before, Ice tells her ex- best friend that she had to avoid Nicki and love her from a distance for the sake of her mental health.
During a recent interview with Rolling Stone,Ice Spice talks about her relationship with the “Anaconda” rapper Nicki Minaj and how she felt after Baby Storme leaked their messages. “I think that the saddest part of the whole situation, it’s somebody I knew for so many years and called my friend had me open up and be vulnerable with them, and then took complete advantage of that for her own benefit, So that was the saddest part really, just feeling used, basically,” she said. Baby Storme also accused Ice Spice of bullying her for years and only being nice to her for the things she had to offer.
When talking about Nicki Minaj, she said, “She’s busy as hell, I don’t really think she caresabout shit like that coming from a random girl. But what I said in those texts was just in a moment of frustration around contract negotiations. I could have chose different words. But at the end of the day, regardless of how I felt in that moment, [Nicki] is still somebody I respect as an artist, and I’m always going to admire everything she has done for me and the culture.” Ice Spice went ahead to say they don't have the closest relationship, but they're good. This is after fans speculated that the two are not in good terms since Nicki Minaj's sold-out tour “Pink Friday 2” had many of her collaborators, exclusive of Ice.
