Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk's 20-year-old transgender daughter, has spoken out after Musk claimed she was "killed by the woke mind virus." Musk, 53, made these remarks during an interview with psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson, streamed on his platform X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, July 22.

During the interview, Musk alleged he was "tricked" into allowing Wilson to undergo transgender-related medical treatment at 16, saying, "I lost my son, essentially. They call it 'deadnaming' for a reason. The reason they call it 'deadnaming' is because your son is dead."

Wilson, who legally changed her name and gender at 18 in 2022, refuted Musk's claim in an interview with NBC News on Thursday, July 25, calling it a "lie."

"I think he assumed I wasn’t going to say anything and would let this go unchallenged," she said. "But I’m not going to let that slide because if you’re going to lie about me, blatantly to an audience of millions, I won’t stay silent."

Wilson revealed that she first came out as gay in eighth grade and said Musk "knew the full side effects" of her medical treatment, which included puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy.

Reflecting on their estranged relationship, she noted that they haven’t spoken in about four years and described her childhood with Musk as one where "he was there maybe 10% of the time."

"That's generous. He had half custody, but he wasn’t there. It was a fact of life at the time, so I didn’t realize how abnormal it was," she said.

Wilson is one of six children Musk shares with his ex-wife Justine Wilson. The SpaceX founder also has three children with singer Grimes and three other kids with Shivon Zilis.

On Threads, Wilson responded to a tweet where Musk described her as "gay and slightly autistic," claiming she used to pick out clothes for him to wear at age 4, calling them "fabulous." Wilson called Musk's recollection "entirely fake."

"This whole narrative is completely fabricated. He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he wasn’t there, and in the little time he was, I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness," she wrote in a lengthy response.

"Obviously, he can’t admit that, so I’ve been reduced to a stereotype to use at his discretion. It says a lot about how he views queer people and children," she added.
