Keith Lee, Tiktok food critic attended the 2024 BET Awards with his wife Ronnie Lee on Sunday in Los Angeles. The event was filled with mixed reaction after the host, Taraji P. Henson made an attempt to flirt with Keith Lee after she mistook him for YouTuber Jordan Howlett. In a now deleted video, Keith Lee posted a video of himself throwing the rose Taraji P. Henson gave him on the ground. He captioned the video, “Our name would be known in every room it's supposed to be, when it's supposed to be, how it's supposed , with no confusion. God is amazing.”

Keith Lee also took to social media to address why he dropped the rose. In a now deleted video,  he claims that it had nothing to do with Henson. “The reason I dropped it on the floor is that I whole heartedly believe that wasn't my rose, that wasn't my rose, that wasn't my moment. It was given to me but it wasn't mine and as I always say, ‘I don't want nothing that ain't mine.’”

Taraji P. Henson  apologized for the mix up which started when she mispronounced singer Halle Bailey's name, before calling Howlett Keith. “I got caught up in my own inner monologue, I'm so sorry ” Henson said, before flirting with him for a second then going on to other guests. Despite Henson's apology Keith Lee created several videos addressing the matter.

“First and foremost, I want to start by saying I am not upset at Taraji P Henson by any stretch of imagination,” Keith Lee explained in his tiktok video. “I don't think for one second that Taraji had any ill intentions behind the situation. The situation happened the way it did, it is what it is. Keith Lee went ahead to say that the entire segment on the production side felt extremely rushed, not intentional and did not feel purposeful.

Keith Lee also went ahead to talk about his social anxiety.  “I've always spoken about my social anxiety and for me just to get out and be in that moment was more than enough for me, so to take me and my wife out of our seats, put us in different seats, give Taraji no direction to who we are and what we do felt extremely unprepared and unprofessional.”
