Kash Doll has faced a lot of backlash following her remarks on the Shannon Sharpe’s podcast. In the viral video, Kash Doll talks about starting the “Doll wave” among female rappers and mentions wanting everyone to change their names. After Kash Doll became a viral internet sensation, some female rappers started embracing the name “Doll” with Asian Doll, Cuban Doll and Dream Doll going viral.

 

Kash Doll expressed that similarity in names led to comparison despite the “doll” name being her brand. She claims doll is the most common name in the music industry. She stated that she came into the industry with a unique name and did not copy anyone’s. Kash doll referred to different female names to emphasize her point. She claims she did not come out as Kash Minaj, Kash Thee Stallion, Old Miami or Cardi C.

“Kash you is an underground rapper from Detroit how could we steal your name? We didn’t know bout you till you posted us in 2016, yes you was a doll in 1998 that was your stripper make… but that also came from Foxy Brown she used to call herself Chyna doll in the 90s. Do y’all homework,” Cuban Doll wrote.

Asian Da Brat, famously known as Asian Doll tool to social media to defend herself and other female rappers who go by the name Doll. “Bitch 40 years old sitting up here lying. How we just come outta nowhere claiming “Doll” but this is her in 2016 giving me my flowers… that’s why every single she asked me to be on I declined,” Asian Doll wrote. She went ahead to  call Kash doll jealous and accused her of not writing her own music. Asian Da Brat also came for Kash Doll’s appearance z claiming she is too old to a point she doesn’t look like a doll.
