The “Last Time I Saw you” rapper has recently been sued for alleged sexual assault by a man named Brandon Garrett who claimed he was a ‘former manager’ during the 2024 Pink Friday 2 tour. According to reports obtained by TMZ, Garrett claimed that Minaj summoned him to her dressing room after an April 2024 concert in Detroit, where she allegedly became agitated to learn he asked someone else to pick up a prescription.
Garrett reportedly explained to Minaj that he was preoccupied with another task during the show and needed another assistant to run the errand. Upon hearing his reasoning, Minaj allegedly got “visibly upset” and “angrily screamed” at him. She apparently said, “Are you f—ing crazy having him pick up my prescription?” and “If my husband [Kenneth Petty] was here, he would knock out your f — ing teeth.” He also claims that Minaj threatened him by telling him his “life is over.”
Garrett filed the lawsuit through attorney Thomas Feher in Los Angeles Superior Court and is suing the rapper for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Garrett claims the rapper “open handedly” slapped him on the right side of his face. Garrett also claimed that another employee on Minaj’s team told him that he’d no longer be joining her team for her tour stop in Chicago.
The suit states that Garrett ended up taking a flight to Chicago and contacted the Chicago Police Department to file a police report and request a police escort back to his hotel “because he feared for his safety and did not know if his belongings had been removed or tampered with.” He later flew back to Detroit to file a formal police report there.
“At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty (Minaj’s married name), and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations,” reads a statement from Minaj’s lawyer. “However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.” Nicki Minaj’s lawyers also clarified that Garrett was the rapper’s ex-assistant and not her former manager.
