Beyoncé put on a halftime performance during the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens NFL game at NRG Stadium on December 25, 2024 in Houston, Texas. The halftime show marked the first time the Grammy-winning singer performed songs from her eighth studio album, “Cowboy Carter.” Her performance caused immense discourse on social media, with some fans comparing her to the legendary popstar, Michael Jackson.
“Not Michael… not Prince… not anyone has ever done a live tv stadium performance like Beyoncé just did… every aspect was off the charts ! And that doesn’t even get into the messaging and intentionality of it all… she is 1 of 1,” one user wrote.
Another user, while sharing a snippet of the performance wrote, “There’s no other like her and it’s time for the whole world to accept that there will never be another Beyoncé. She has reached her own level. Right beside Michael & The Beatles but y’all ain’t ready for that.”
One fan referred to Beyoncé as “the last massive global superstar.” They wrote, “This is our last Michael Jackson. This is our last massive global superstar. Once Beyoncé is done I fear we will never have an entertainer again foreeal.” Another one expressed the same sentiments by writing, “ I’m just going to declare it now. Beyoncé is the best performer to ever live after Michael Jackson. There’s no one else that’s currently living that is better at performing live.”
Some fans expressed that comparing the two stars is not necessary as they are at different levels. “Michael had people fainting before he ever opened his mouth. People were being hauled off in ambulances at his concerts. Let’s be frank here. He was the best megastar. No comparison needed.” Another fan echoed the same sentiments, writing, “Do y’all hear yourselves? Michael couldn’t even start singing cause everyone was fainting.” Other users went ahead to refer to Beyoncé as “amazing” and Michael Jackson as “simply iconic.”
