Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter, Shiloh, has filed to change her surname from Jolie- Pitt to Jolie. According to documents obtained by TMZ, Shiloh filed the petition on May 27, her 18th birthday. As one insider explained, Now that Shiloh is an adult, she can make up her own mind as far as how she wants her relationship with her father to develop.
Shiloh decision aligns with her siblings choices, as they too have distanced themselvesfrom the Pitt surname. Vivienne was credited as Vivienne Jolie" in the Playbill for the Broadway musical The Outsiders, where she worked as a production assistant. Zahara introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie" when pledging a sorority at Spelman College. However, none of them have taken legal steps to change their names, unlike Shiloh.
The Jolie-Pitt family dynamics have been under public scrutiny since Angelina and Brad separated in 2016 after more than a decade together. Their ongoing legal battles over custody and the ownership of their French winery, Château Miraval, have added to the strain. Despite this, a source close to Brad expressed his hope for reconciliation with hischildren, stating, Brad respects his children's decisions but remains hopeful he'll be able to
reconcile with them.
“As the kids get older and are able to make more decisions for themselves, if it is Shiloh or anyone else, if those decisions pose a positive or negative outlook on the father he wants to be, he understands that they are adults and can decide what they want to do.
Amid these family changes, Angelina has continued to support her children publicly. She recently attended the premiere of Reefer Madness: The Musical in Los Angeles, produced by Kristen Bell. Bell remarked on Angelina's attendance, saying, She just said she wanted to come out and support, which I thought was a lovely gesture.
As Shiloh awaits the court's decision on her name change, it remains clear that each child is carving out their own path amid their parents high-profile divorce.
