In 2005, Perry transitioned to film with Diary of a Mad Black Woman, which was a commercial success despite mixed reviews from critics. (2007), and Madea Goes to Jail (2009). One of Perry's most significant milestones came in 2006 with thelaunch of Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. This studio, which expanded to a sprawling 330-acre lot in 2019, is one of the largest production facilities in the United States. It has not only produced Perry's works but also provided a space for other major productions, including Marvel's Black Panther and HBO'sThe Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.The studio stands as a testament to Perry's entrepreneurial spirit and his commitment to creating opportunities within the industry.

In television, Perry made history with House of Payne in 2007, which ran for eight seasons and became one of the highest-rated syndicated shows on cable television.
