Mike Tyson experienced a medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, just weeks before his scheduled fight with Jake Paul. Tyson, 57, required medical attention after becoming nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up.
The plane, already delayed by two hours due to heat issues, saw paramedics board upon arrival at LAX to attend to Tyson. "Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded," an eyewitness told In Touch Weekly. "Before the paramedics
arrived, the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor – the message even came on everyone’s screens.
Tyson's representatives quickly reassured the public about his condition, telling The New York Post,Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative of the medical staff that were there to help him.
Tyson's upcoming fight with Jake Paul is scheduled for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The bout, which will be live-streamed on Netflix, is expected to draw over 90,000 fans. This event marks Tyson's return to professional boxing after nearly two decades, following his 2005 defeat to Kevin McBride. Although Tyson fought Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match in 2020, this will be his first official professional bout since his
retirement.
The fight has generated significant attention, partly due to the vast age difference between Tyson and Paul, with Tyson being three decades older. Critics have voiced concerns over the matchup, but Tyson remains unfazed. I don't see too many people critical about it, Tyson said at a press conference. When pressed by a reporter, he retorted,Who? Name me somebody. You? Who?
Paul, confident in his abilities, has warned he will not hold back against Tyson. Mike Tyson is a killer. He's ruthless. He's the most vicious champion ever. So, I have to channel that Mike Tyson energy to finish him. And the legend must fall, Paul stated. In preparation for the fight, Tyson has made significant lifestyle changes, including giving up his daily marijuana use, as cannabis is on the list of banned substances by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
