As part of the transaction, the Tempo also waived guard Tima Pouye to make room on the roster.
Morrow joins Toronto after an impressive start to her professional career. Although still early in her time in the WNBA, she has already established herself as one of the league's most effective rebounders. During her rookie season, she led the WNBA in defensive rebounding rate at 31.9 percent, showcasing the ability that made her one of the top prospects entering the league. Along with her rebounding, Morrow continues to develop her offensive game, making her one of the brightest young forwards in women's basketball.
Toronto General Manager Monica Wright Rogers expressed her excitement about adding the talented forward to the team.
"We're thrilled to welcome Aneesah to our organization," Rogers said. "She's a relentless competitor who impacts the game in so many ways, particularly with her ability to rebound at a high level. We believe she's one of the emerging frontcourt talents in this league, and we're excited to see her play in a Tempo uniform."
Before entering the WNBA, Morrow enjoyed a standout collegiate career. She spent her first two seasons at DePaul before transferring to LSU, where she helped lead the Tigers to the 2024-25 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship Game. During that season, she earned Women's USBWA First Team All-America honors and was also named to the AP All-America Second Team. Morrow averaged 18.7 points and an NCAA-leading 13.5 rebounds per game. She finished her college career with 104 double-doubles, the second-highest total in NCAA Division I history.
The Connecticut Sun selected Morrow with the seventh overall pick in the first round of the 2025 WNBA Draft. This season, she has averaged 11.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 23.2 minutes across 20 games. She has also recorded nine double-doubles, placing her among the league leaders in that category.
Toronto officially joined the WNBA in 2026 as the league's first franchise based outside the United States. The acquisition of Morrow represents another important step as the expansion team continues to build a competitive roster for the future.
