Tennis legend Serena Williams has shared details about a deeply personal decision she made during the peak of her professional career.

 The 23 time Grand Slam champion revealed that freezing her eggs in her late 20s helped remove the pressure of balancing motherhood with the demands of elite sports.

Williams spoke openly during a live recording of the “_IMOf”_ podcast where the discussion focused on women’s health,fertility,motherhood and career choices.

She explained that at the time,she was still fully committed to professional tennis and was not ready to step away from the sport to
start a family.

According to Williams,freezing her eggs gave her peace of mind and helped her continue competing without feeling rushed by the pressure of the biological clock.

She said the decision lifted a huge emotional burden from her shoulders and allowed her to focus on her sporting goals while keeping future family options open.

The former world number one revealed she was around 27 or 28 years old when she made the decision after receiving advice from someone close to
her.

Since then,she has encouraged many women around her to consider learning more about fertility preservation and reproductive health.

The conversation also touched on the wider issue of women’s health and fertility struggles.During the discussion,former US First Lady Michelle Obama also opened up about her own IVF journey and miscarriage experience,highlighting how many women silently struggle with fertility challenges.

Serena who is married to Alexis Ohanian is now a mother of two daughters,Olympia and Adira.She explained that motherhood has become the center of her life and said she works hard to remain fully present for her children despite her busy schedule.

The tennis icon also revealed that she rarely stays away from her children for long periods and takes an active role in raising them personally.
