Olivia Miles is already making history just three games into her WNBA career, putting herself in rare company alongside league legends Sue Bird and Candace Parker.

The rookie guard has made an instant impact for the Minnesota Lynx at the start of the 2026 season, showing remarkable composure and confidence for a first-year player. Through her opening three games, Miles is averaging 16.3 points, 7.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds while operating with the calm decision-making and creativity of a seasoned professional.

According to ESPN Insights, Miles became only the third player in WNBA history to record at least 10 points and five assists in each of her first three career games. The only other players to accomplish the feat are Bird and Parker, two athletes widely regarded among the greatest in league history.

For a rookie to be mentioned alongside names of that caliber so early in her career highlights just how impressive her start has been.

What stands out even more than the numbers is how naturally Miles has adjusted to the pace of the professional game. The former TCU standout has stepped into a major role for the Lynx without looking overwhelmed at any point.

She has quickly become a reliable floor general, creating scoring opportunities for teammates, handling defensive pressure with maturity and pushing the tempo whenever opportunities arise. Her passing ability and court vision, which made her one of college basketball's most exciting guards, have translated immediately to the WNBA.

Minnesota already entered the season as one of the league's strongest teams behind stars such as Napheesa Collier, but Miles has added another dimension to the offense. Her ability to speed up the game and make quick decisions in transition has helped the Lynx look even more dangerous.

There is also a sense that Miles is only scratching the surface of her potential. While she has already produced impressive performances, her outside shooting consistency can still improve, and she continues to gain experience against elite WNBA defenses.

Before entering the draft, Miles was already viewed as one of the top prospects in the country following an outstanding college career at Texas Christian University. During her final season, she averaged 19.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game while recording 12 career triple-doubles, trailing only Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark on the NCAA all-time list.

Now, only a few games into her professional journey, Miles already looks capable of becoming another franchise cornerstone for the Lynx.
