The Oklahoma City Thunder secured the top seed in the Western Conference and guaranteed home court advantage throughout the NBA playoffs with a convincing 128-110 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The win confirmed the Thunder’s dominance this season, as they finished with the league’s best regular season record at 64-16. It also marked the third straight year they have claimed the number one spot in the West, holding off strong competition from the San Antonio Spurs.

Chet Holmgren delivered a standout performance, leading all scorers with 30 points while also grabbing 14 rebounds. Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 20 points and 11 assists. His performance extended an impressive streak of 140 consecutive games scoring at least 20 points, underlining his consistency as one of the league’s top performers.

Despite entering the game in strong form, the Clippers could not keep pace. They had won eight of their previous nine games but now face a crucial matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers as both teams battle for eighth place in the Western Conference standings. Finishing eighth offers a significant advantage in the play-in tournament, requiring only one win to advance to the playoffs. A ninth place finish would mean a more difficult path, including a must win game against the Golden State Warriors and another elimination contest.

Elsewhere, the Spurs strengthened their late season surge with a 112-101 victory over Portland. De'Aaron Fox led the way with 25 points, five rebounds, and seven assists, helping his team continue an impressive run that has seen them win 18 of their last 20 games.

The Denver Nuggets also maintained strong momentum, recording their tenth straight win with a 136-119 result against the Memphis Grizzlies. Jamal Murray paced the Nuggets with 26 points as they solidified their hold on third place.

In the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks missed the chance to secure a playoff spot after falling 122-116 to the Cleveland Cavaliers, though they still have an opportunity to finish in the top six. The Detroit Pistons delivered a dominant 137-111 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, while the Orlando Magic defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 132-120.

The Phoenix Suns also picked up a key win, with Devin Booker scoring 37 points to lead his team to a 112-107 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
