Drake’s Super Bowl prediction did not turn out to be his most profitable moment. The “Nice for What” rapper placed a $1 million wager on the New England Patriots to defeat the Seattle Seahawks during Super Bowl 2026, but the bet quickly went south when the Seahawks secured a decisive 29–13 victory on Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
One day before kickoff, Drake publicly shared his confidence in the Patriots. He posted an Instagram photo showing a screenshot of his official $1 million Moneyline bet, which promised a potential payout of $2.95 million. Alongside the image, he wrote, “Bet against me if you dare @stake,” putting his prediction fully on display for fans and critics alike.
The high-stakes post drew plenty of attention. Actor Mark Wahlberg, a longtime Patriots supporter, backed the rapper in the comments, calling him a “SMART MAN.” Another fan jokingly suggested fate was on Drake’s side because Patriots quarterback Drake Maye shares his name, writing, “Ah, now I understand as one of the players is named DRAKE! Let’s goooo.”
However, not everyone was convinced. Many social media users were quick to reference Drake’s long-running reputation for bad luck when he publicly supports teams or athletes. Comments such as “Drake curse” flooded the post, while another user joked, “Bro already lost the fight before the battle starts.”
As the Seahawks dominated the game, Drake was notably absent from the stands. Celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Lewis Hamilton, Cardi B, and Alix Earle were among those in attendance, watching the Seahawks’ victory firsthand. Several stars also appeared during Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show, adding to the night’s spectacle.
Despite Drake’s losing bet, the Seahawks had plenty to celebrate. The win marked their first Lombardi Trophy since 2014 and was a career-defining moment for quarterback Sam Darnold. The victory made him the first quarterback from the 2018 draft class, which included Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, and Lamar Jackson, to win a Super Bowl.
Reflecting after the game, Darnold expressed gratitude for his journey. He credited his teammates, coaches, family, and friends for believing in him through eight seasons with multiple teams before finally reaching the sport’s highest peak in Seattle.
