The loss of a globally adored player is being lamented by the soccer community.

The Gabonese Football Federation (FEGAFOOT) informed Reuters on April 16 that Aaron Boupendza, a professional soccer player who had previously played for Major League Soccer's FC Cincinnati and had signed with Zhejiang FC earlier this year, had died after falling from a building's 11th-floor balcony in China. He was twenty-eight.

FEGAFOOT issued a statement, according to Reuters, saying, FEGAFOOT and the great family of Gabonese soccer offer their sincere condolences to his family in this difficult time.At the age of 28, Boupendza is regarded as a fantastic striker who made a significant impact at the 2022 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Only a few months after his four-year contract with FC Cincinnati was terminated in August, Gabon native Boupendza was ranked as the 13th forward in the Zhejiang league. According to The Athletic, the aforementioned football team expressed their sorrow for the untimely death of their former player, even though they ended his time with them because he missed a week of practice.

Cincinnati released a statement saying, We are saddened to hear of the tragic passing of former FC Cincinnati forward Aaron Boupendza at his home in China earlier today.We send our condolences to his teammates, friends, and family. We extend our condolences to everyone who knew him; he was a beloved member of the FC Cincinnati family.

According to Major League Soccer, the 28-year-old left Cincinnati with sevenBgoals and two assists despite playing in just 24 league games. According to The Athletic, Boupendza turned pro in 2017 and played for eight clubs worldwide, including in France, Portugal, and Saudi Arabia.

In a statement of condolence for the soccer player, incoming Gabon president Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema described Boupendza as "a talented center forward who brought honor to Gabonese football" after learning of his passing.
