LeBron James is celebrating his wife and longtime partner, Savannah James, as she marks her 40th birthday.
Savannah celebrated her milestone birthday on Thursday, Aug. 27, and the NBA superstar, 41, took to Instagram to honor her with a heartfelt message.
"Happy birthday my queen!!! We all are ready to celebrate you!! Especially me," LeBron wrote, sharing a photo of himself and Savannah dressed elegantly for a red carpet event.
He continued by praising his wife and expressing his love for her, writing that she deserved all the love and good energy coming her way on her special day and beyond. He ended the message with a declaration of his endless love for Savannah and encouraged her to enjoy the celebrations.
The birthday post also drew attention from some of the couple's famous friends and followers. Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes and WNBA player Natasha Cloud were among those who sent Savannah birthday wishes in the comments. WNBA star Caitlin Clark and Olympic champion Sha'Carri Richardson also showed their support by liking the post.
LeBron's birthday tribute comes during an eventful period in his professional life. In July, the basketball icon surprised fans by announcing that he would join the Philadelphia 76ers for the upcoming NBA season. The move marks his record-breaking 24th season in the league.
In a July 24 post on X, LeBron explained that he initially believed his previous season could have been his last. He said he needed time to reflect on whether he still loved basketball and wanted to continue competing at the highest level.
After taking time to think about his future, however, LeBron said he realized he still had more to give.
"I still truly love this game, and I have more to give," he wrote, adding that the past few weeks had given him an opportunity to spend meaningful time with the people he loves while making his decision.
LeBron also described the decision as his "last decision" and said his motivation was not money or family obligations. Instead, he remains driven by his desire to work, compete and pursue another championship.
"I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship," he said.
As LeBron prepares for another NBA season, he continues to celebrate important moments with Savannah and their family.
