Former NBA champion Dwight Howard has amplified his increasingly contentious legal battle against his estranged wife, Amber Rose Howard, widely known by her stage name Amy Luciani, accusing her of a calculated scheme of manipulation. According to newly surfaced court documents obtained by TMZ, the 40-year-old former basketball star claims Luciani deliberately deceived him into marriage by falsely claiming she could have children, despite knowing she was completely unable to do so.

The startling allegation was laid bare in a legal filing where Howard requested a formal protective order against the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta personality. Within the documents, the eight-time NBA All-Star painted a grim portrait of a union allegedly built on a foundation of severe dishonesty. Howard asserted that Luciani possessed a long-standing history of lying and manipulation, specifically weaponizing his desire to expand his family. He alleged that she was fully aware of her own severe fertility issues prior to their nuptials but actively chose to conceal and deny that reality to secure their marriage.

The explosive custody and fertility claims mark a sharp escalation in what has become one of the most volatile celebrity splits of the year. The couple initially tied the knot on January 11, 2025, but the relationship rapidly deteriorated, resulting in multiple mirrored divorce filings, short-lived reconciliations, and mutual restraining orders.

The current legal offensive from Howard comes as a direct counter-response to a massive wave of public accusations launched by Luciani. In March 2026, the reality star went viral across social media after uploading emotional videos alleging that Child Protective Services (CPS) had intervened at their home and removed a child. Furthermore, she publicly accused Howard of maintaining a severe cocaine addiction, even displaying a plastic bag filled with a powdery substance on camera to back her claims.

In his new court petition, Howard fiercely refuted those narratives, stating under oath that he has “never done coke” in his entire life. The former Los Angeles Laker argued that Luciani has embarked on an intentional, malicious “crusade of lies and defamation” aimed at destroying his remaining professional prospects. He claimed she systematically spread false information to law enforcement, his close friends, his family, and crucially, the mothers of his other children.

While Luciani has reportedly denied Howard’s latest claims regarding the fertility deception, the former athlete maintains that the immediate financial and reputational fallout from her public statements has already cost him critical employment opportunities. The ongoing case remains under review in a Georgia family court.
