Quinton Aaron is overcoming his health challenges. Days after The Blind Side star's wife, Margarita, revealed that he had been admitted to the hospital and placed on life support following a fall at home, his loved ones provided an update on his condition.

"We acknowledge that you've heard about Quinton Aaron's condition," the family said in a statement obtained by People and TMZ on January 29. "We appreciate the overwhelming love, support, and prayers that Quinton has received over the past few days from his fans, the public, and our concerned community."

Regarding his condition, the family stated, "To update everyone, he suffered a spinal stroke." "He is alert, aware, and recovering."

As Quinton recovers from the scary health situation, his family promised to keep fans updated.

"The Aaron family has a lot to deal with for the betterment of their loved one," the statement to the outlets continued. "But we will be sure to keep everyone posted regarding Quinton‘s health as we see fit."

The family further cautioned against any statements made to the public that haven't come directly from them.

"We kindly ask the public to respect the decisions we make," Quinton's family said in their message. "And to please understand that false information or statements may be made by others who continue to come forward but are not fully informed or aware of all of the facts surrounding his condition, nor are they authorized to do so."

On Jan. 26, Margarita told TMZ that the 41-year-old was rushed to the hospital after losing feeling in his legs and that doctors diagnosed him with a blood infection. Despite being on life support, she observed that he was able to breathe partially on his own.

"He's showing a lot of improvement,” Margarita emphasized. “We all have faith in God that he will walk out of here fully recovered."

In the midst of Quinton's difficult health situation, his Blind Side co-star Jae Head reflected on his close relationship with the actor.

"Q is one of the nicest people I've ever had the opportunity to meet," Jae wrote in part in the caption of the Instagram carousel from January 26. "He is one of my best friends. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. Prior to his recent hospitalization, Quinton—who played Michael Oher in Sandra Bullock's 2009 film—was open about his health issues, including a 2019 hospitalization for an upper respiratory infection in February.

In March, after being released from the hospital following battles with type A flu and pneumonia, he gave insight into where his health stood.

"I'm out, and everything is good,” Aaron said in a since-deleted Instagram video shared in March. “I'm going to go take my medicines. I'm about to go home and take a nap because I'm tired; I couldn't sleep, and people were walking in my room at all hours of the night."
