Khloé Kardashian has opened up about a painful experience from her marriage to Lamar Odom that caused her to stop journaling altogether. During a recent episode of her podcast, “Khloé in Wonder Land,” she shared that she once relied heavily on writing as a way to process her emotions, reflect on her life and find clarity during difficult moments. She described journaling as something she did constantly, filling notebook after notebook with personal reflections. However, a dramatic confrontation with Odom brought that lifelong habit to an abrupt end.
According to Khloé, the incident took place during a turbulent period in their marriage when Odom was struggling with addiction and experiencing intense paranoia. She explained that he became convinced her journals were not harmless personal writings, but instead something sinister. At one point, she said, he believed she was recording information about him and sending it to government agencies. Acting on those delusions, he gathered all of her journals and burned them.
Khloé recalled the moment vividly, describing how she fell to her knees crying as she watched years of her thoughts, memories and emotional struggles go up in flames. She remembered screaming and begging him to stop, feeling helpless as the pages she had poured her heart into were destroyed in front of her. She said it was a devastating loss, not only because the journals contained cherished reflections, but because the act itself shattered her sense of safety and privacy.
After that day, Khloé said she could no longer bring herself to journal. Even though she still believes writing can be therapeutic, she admitted that she is afraid to be that vulnerable again. She explained that she does not want to risk experiencing another violation of something meaningful and personal. While she sometimes jots down notes or thoughts, she now throws them away instead of keeping them.
Reflecting on the experience, Khloé said it taught her how quickly something important can be taken away. She expressed sadness that she no longer has those journals to revisit or learn from, but she also feels that the emotional wound left by their destruction remains too deep to ignore. Despite this, she is continuing to focus on healing, acknowledging the past while working toward a healthier relationship with herself and her memories.
