Rapper Nicki Minaj has publicly claimed that several people made unauthorized charges on her American Express card without her permission, asserting that the suspects have since been caught and that she has filed a police report. According to her social media statements, the total amount charged is roughly $25,000 to $30,000, and the alleged misuse has occurred over a span of months.
In an Instagram post, Minaj wrote that “3 different people in a span of 2 months [were] charging my Amex w/o permission”, adding that some could not even explain how they obtained her new card number. She further alleged that a few individuals had been making unauthorized charges for years, and described the situation as a betrayal, insisting she already reported the matter to authorities. Minaj characterized the situation as more than an isolated incident, she said the people involved were “caught red-handed being thieves & worse.”
Minaj also claimed that one of the accused employed a tracking device to monitor her movements. She suggested that investigators used the device’s data, including a phone number linked to it, in building the case. Though she did not name any individual, she threatened the use of legal means, saying, “They’re all going to jail” and intimating that discussions of RICO charges were possible.
Media outlets covering the claim emphasize that Minaj posted screen captures of some of the unauthorized transactions, showing a trail of suspicious activity on her account. She reposted details of purchases that she says she did not authorize, alleging that the illicit use of her credit card was systematic and tied to individuals close to her circle. Reports note that Minaj has publicly confronted several of the alleged perpetrators and claimed they responded with shock when exposed.
To date, Minaj has not disclosed the identities of the individuals accused in the scheme. It remains unclear whether charges have formally been filed against them, though she states her police reports are active and investigations are underway. No law enforcement agency has publicly confirmed the specific status of such investigations, and Minaj’s representatives have yet to provide additional documentation beyond her social media revelations.
