Rising singer D4vd has abruptly pulled the European and UK legs of his tour as an investigation deepens surrounding the discovery of a teenage girl’s body in a vehicle registered to him. The dramatic cancellations come amid intense scrutiny and unanswered questions about the case.
The inquiry centers on remains found on September 8 in a Tesla impounded in Hollywood, California. Authorities later identified the body as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who had been missing since April 2024. The vehicle was registered to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, though law enforcement has not publicly ruled him a suspect. The cause and manner of death remain undetermined and the case is still under active investigation.
Shortly after the body was identified, D4vd canceled several U.S. tour dates including shows in Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Ticketing platforms and venue listings removed or marked those performances as canceled. In the following days, concert dates across Europe and the UK, originally slated for October and November, were also axed or disappeared from sale, with venues citing “unforeseen circumstances.” Some ticketing sites have scrubbed the remaining tour dates entirely.
Officials say that D4vd is cooperating with law enforcement. The Los Angeles Police Department conducted a search warrant at a Hollywood Hills property where he had previously stayed, seizing electronics and other items as part of their evidence gathering. Investigators continue to gather forensic data, examine phone records and pursue leads that could clarify how Rivas ended up in the vehicle.
The cancellations not only spanned Europe and the UK but also impacted the release and promotion of D4vd’s recent album. The deluxe version of his project Withered, initially scheduled for a mid-September release, has been delayed indefinitely. Additionally, promotional efforts have been paused, with labels and management teams holding back marketing amid the investigation.
Although no criminal charges have been filed against D4vd, the gravity of the situation has altered his career trajectory overnight. As investigators race to fill in the gaps, the music world watches closely to see how the artist responds and whether the touring stops can ever be reinstated.
