Rapper Kodak Black is once again in the spotlight, this time facing serious allegations from his ex-partner, Maranda Johnson, who has accused him of domestic violence in the midst of an increasingly tense custody battle over their two young children.

Court documents reportedly filed earlier this week reveal Johnson’s claims that the Florida-born rapper, whose real name is Bill Kapri, engaged in violent and controlling behavior during their relationship. She alleges that multiple incidents of verbal and physical abuse occurred while they lived together, creating what she described as an “unsafe environment” for both herself and their children.

Johnson, who has primary physical custody of the children, is now seeking full legal custody, arguing that Kodak Black’s behavior makes him unfit to be the custodial parent. In her petition, she referenced not only the alleged violence but also the rapper’s ongoing legal troubles and struggles with substance use, claiming these issues further endanger their children’s wellbeing.

The accusations arrive during a turbulent period for Kodak Black, who has faced several run-ins with the law in recent years. Although he has enjoyed chart success with hits like “No Flockin” and “Zeze,” his career has often been overshadowed by arrests, probation violations and legal disputes. The rapper, who previously received a commutation from former President Donald Trump, is currently navigating multiple legal challenges even as he attempts to stabilize his personal life.

In response to Johnson’s filing, representatives for Kodak Black have strongly denied the domestic violence claims, calling them an attempt to damage his reputation and sway the court in the custody dispute. Sources close to the rapper insist he has been actively involved in his children’s lives and is fighting to maintain shared custody.

As the legal battle unfolds, the court will determine custody arrangements and investigate the domestic violence claims. For now, the future of the two children hangs in the balance, with both parents locked in a bitter dispute that extends beyond the courtroom and into the public eye.
