Nicki Minaj and SZA are going at it on X after a tweet from SZA caught Nicki's attention. What began as a cryptic post quickly spiralled into a full-blown feud between the two chart-topping artists.
The drama began when SZA posted a seemingly harmless message on X: "Mercury retrograde... don't take the bait lol silly goose." Nicki Minaj interpreted this as a subliminal directed at her, especially after she had just called out Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) president Terrence "Punch" Henderson, accusing him of bullying her online.
Following this, Nicki launched into a tirade, slamming SZA's music and looks. "Go draw your freckles back on bookie #JusticeForDemoree #DepositionPerez. Liar liar pants on fire. Sounding like a f**ing dead dog," she posted. She didn't stop there. Nicki went on to mock SZA's appearance, writing, "Bitch looking & sounding like she got stung by a fucking bee. dot dot dot *Draws on my fake freckles*"
SZA, who had just come off stage in Paris for her "GNX" tour with Kendrick Lamar, responded strongly: "I wasn't even talking about or to anyone. I had just got off stage talkin bout retrograde. F--- YES IM MAD NOW DO YOU NEED THAT !??" She followed up with another fiery post: "I get bullied by millions online every day then step my ass out onna packed stadium tour where ppl show me REAL love. IN REAL LIFE. My parents are healthy and I'm the most successful I ever been. GET SOME F---KING PERSPECTIVE n BARK AT THE WALL !!!"
Nicki then went on to call SZA irrelevant saying, "Wait. Does Sza think she's more successful than me? Lol yall catch me up pls. Sza if every song you've ever done vanished right now the music business wouldn't even miss you. I've been to countries that never heard of you."
The situation worsened when Nicki questioned SZA's chart-topping success. "Bitch put out a whole new album as a deluxe to an already existing album that was out for like a year or 2 so the original album could break records. Like what in the insecure lack of morals & integrity you doing? I thought she was like a real artist? Girl bye."
Fans on both sides have weighed in, some siding with SZA for maintaining composure, while others rallied behind Nicki. One fan commented, "You are so jealous of SZA's success it's sad asf. Do better!" Another added, "Her album still topped yours!!! Get some rest granny!"
Though SZA clarified she "absolutely" is out of her mind, she attributed it to her success: "U AIN'T HEARD THE ALBUM THAT WENT NUMBER ONE 13 WEEKS? That shoulda let you know. IM OUT MY F---ING MIND."
The feud shows no sign of resolution yet.
