Porsha Williams has achieved a significant legal triumph in her ongoing divorce from ex‑husband Simon Guobadia following a June 11 hearing in which the judge upheld their prenuptial agreement. The court granted Williams a monthly alimony payment of $40,000 for 14 to 15 months and ordered Guobadia to cover all her legal fees. Additionally, she will retain ownership of the Rolls‑Royce he gifted her during their marriage. Although the couple’s $7 million Atlanta home was deemed Guobadia’s premarital asset, the judge granted Williams occupancy through 2027. Guobadia will continue paying the mortgage and related expenses, while Williams has the option to remain in the property longer by refinancing and buying out his 50 percent interest.

The hearing, which took place via Zoom due to Guobadia’s recent deportation to Nigeria after overstaying a U.S. visa, lasted nearly ten hours. The two did not interact, and insiders noted Guobadia left visibly angry. He now has 30 days to file an appeal. His deportation has added complexity to the divorce process; future proceedings will involve his virtual attendance from abroad.

The enforcement of their prenup marks a culmination of Williams’s legal strategy to protect her assets amid the divorce. Originally signed in November 2022, the agreement expressly detailed terms for asset division and alimony, aiming to prevent protracted courtroom battles and intrusive financial discovery. Williams had secured earlier legal wins—in September 2024, the court upheld the prenup, denied Guobadia’s efforts to subpoena her employer and depositions, and likewise awarded her legal fees. That ruling also dismissed his assertions that Williams’s return to television had invalidated the agreement, noting that Guobadia was fully aware of her career prior to marriage.

The divorce has been fraught with dramatic developments. Williams initially filed in February 2024, citing financial opacity and trust issues. The couple’s tumultuous relationship—marked by a whirlwind one‑month romance, dual 2022 weddings, and contentious courtroom scenes—was prominently featured in the Season 16 premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Williams has publicly credited therapy and her faith for guiding her through the turmoil, saying “God is showing out” amid her mounting legal victories
