In a recent development in the ongoing divorce proceedings between Cardi B and Offset, Offset has filed an amended response requesting spousal support from his estranged wife. This move marks a new chapter in their high-profile separation, highlighting the evolving dynamics of their financial and custodial arrangements.
Offset’s request for spousal support comes amid reports of his financial challenges, including substantial tax liens totaling over $1.6 million. These financial strains may have influenced his decision to seek support from Cardi B, whose net worth is estimated to be between $80 and $100 million, significantly higher than Offset’s estimated $30 million. The court has acknowledged this disparity, granting Offset’s request for spousal support.
In addition to financial support, Offset is seeking joint legal custody of their three children, with the children primarily residing with Cardi B. This arrangement aims to ensure that both parents remain actively involved in their children’s lives, despite the dissolution of their marriage.
The couple's relationship has been marked by public disputes and reconciliations since their marriage in 2017. Cardi B filed for divorce in August 2024, citing irreconcilable differences. Despite attempts at reconciliation, including a brief reunion at Offset’s birthday party in December 2024, the couple has proceeded with the divorce .
In an online comment, Cardi B shared, “Ok this is getting weird cause I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids … Never in my career, no matter what I went through I had friends or family go to the media, sooo I don’t know who is this damn source going to people magazine.. Even with my filling, I’m not asking for child support my claim is for him to only pay for the bills he already pays on the kids and the new one.”
As the divorce proceedings continue, both Cardi B and Offset have expressed a commitment to co-parenting their children. The court's decisions on spousal support and custody will undoubtedly shape the future dynamics of their family and may set precedents for similar cases involving high-profile couples with significant income disparities.
