The Grammy winner recently clarified that although she is accustomed to receiving harsh criticism, she is learning to accept it with grace.
During the May 14 episode of Therapuss with Jake Shane, she stated, I've been cancelled a lot. I'm still continuing, so I shouldn't say I've been cancelled, but I've had a lot of criticism.
I use it as a growing and learning lesson literally every time I've received backlash, she continued.
The vocalist of Juice originally encountered criticism when she synchronized her song Good as Hell with Weight Watchers following Oprah Winfrey's acquisition of the organization. Lizzo said, It was like, Oprah wants to use your song. I went crazy. Oh my God, Oprah knows who I am! I said. I exclaimed, Yes, yes.
However, her feelings soon changed. Everyone was like, You're f--king joking, right? Like this is promoting eating disorders, and I was so proud that I posted the commercial, she said to Jake. And I thought, Oh my god. My heart was broken. My heart was genuinely broken.
Lizzo's most recent revelation follows her public declaration of her struggle with depression, which caused her to take a hiatus from performing.
Onstage in March, Lizzo remarked, I was in such a dark, deep depression about a year and a half ago.I was so heartbroken by the world.
She also took a vacation from performing after being sued by three of her Special Tour dancers who claimed she was engaging in disability discrimination, weight- shaming, and sexual harassment. Asha Daniels, her clothing stylist, sued her separately a month later, claiming that she had harassed her sexually and racially.

In the end, her gap year from performance gave her the opportunity to focus on herself, which included changing her appearance. Despite losing weight, she said, she has actually gained so much. She said, I've gained a sense of self on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast. I've gained a lifestyle that I actually really love.
